Dalbert W. Fear, Jr., D.D.S., M.S.

Dr. Fear received a Bachelor of General Studies degree from the University of Michigan and Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science degrees from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.  He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan Hospital in 1986.  He received additional training in trauma care at Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland.  He has been in the private practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery since joining Dr. Timothy Pickens and Dr. Gilbert Small in 1986.

Dr. Fear is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He is a member of the Chalmers Lyons Academy and the Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.  Dr. Fear is a past president of the Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and continues to serve on the council of Michigan Dental Specialties.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Washtenaw District Dental Society as well as a member of the Michigan Dental Association.  He has served as a delegate both to the Michigan Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and chairman of the Washtenaw District Dental Society’s Committee on Peer Review.

Dr. Fear is an active member of the Department of Surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.  He has been the hospital Section Head of Dentistry and Oral Surgery since 1997.  He also has staff privileges at Saline Hospital and Emma Bixby Medical Center in Adrian.  Dr. Fear serves as a guest lecturer and clinical instructor in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
