
Dr. Karam received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Microbiology from The University of Central Florida and Doctor of Dental Medicine from The University of Florida College of Dentistry. Following a one year internship at The Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Karam completed the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at Sinai-St. Joseph Mercy Oakland/ Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Karam has participated with the Healing the Children Foundation and has traveled to Columbia, to provide surgery on cleft lip and/or palate patients. Dr. Karam joined the University of Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department in 2004 and held the title of Predoctoral Clinic Director until joining this practice. During her teaching years, Dr. Karam received multiple teaching awards including the Paul Gibbons award in 2007, which honors one instructor who the graduating class considers to be the greatest influence on them during their four-years of dental school training.
Dr. Karam is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Diplomate of both American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. She is a member of multiple professional organizations such as Chalmers Lyons Academy, Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and American Society of Dental Anesthesiology.
Dr. Karam is an active member of the Department of Surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, and is an adjunct clinical assistant professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry.
