
Dr. Baxter received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Albion College and Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science degrees at University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He completed postdoctoral residency training at Indiana University and University of Michigan Hospitals. He received additional training in trauma care at Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland. In the past, he has served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
Dr. Baxter is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He holds memberships with the American Dental Association and the Washtenaw District Dental Society. Dr. Baxter has previously served as a delegate to the Michigan Dental Association and as Chief Examiner for the Michigan Specialty Board Examination Committee. Dr. Baxter has authored and co-authored several journal publications.
Dr. Baxter provides full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery. He shares hospital staff privileges at St. Joseph Mercy Health System and Emma Bixby Medical Center.
