You may be referred to our office for removal of a tooth or teeth. Your dentist refers patients to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon when he or she feels that the specialized care we can render is appropriate to ensure that the tooth or teeth are removed safely and comfortably.
Teeth may need to be removed for many reasons including crowding, decay, periodontal disease or in order to complete treatment on other teeth.
Depending on the complexity of the planned procedure, your general medical condition and any questions you may have, a consultation appointment may be appropriate prior to scheduling the tooth removal. In certain circumstances treatment can be rendered on the day of the initial visit.
We are equipped for and are prepared to care for urgent/painful situations in a timely matter. Please let us know if you feel your situation is urgent. Anesthesia options will be discussed with you and include local anesthesia, nitrous oxide and/or intravenous sedation.
